Detachment Is the Key to Playfulness

Be completely involved in life without becoming imprisoned by it.

For one to experience life in its truest form, one has to be detached from everything and simply play this game of life like a child plays with his toys.

He even destroys his toys in the process but he never regrets them because he believes he will get another one. But we on the other hand, due to our attachments, cry or hold on to things that we lose.

So instead of telling a child to grow up maybe we should tell ourselves to let go of everything, play and flirt with life with totality, inner joy, experimenting with it and enjoying the whole process.

Because the only meaning to life is what you give.

Now many people confuse detachment with not caring. It's not that.

Detachment in its true sense is caring for that particular moment, enjoying that particular moment in which something happens and then not carrying it as a burden into the next.

You live moment to moment and you can enjoy each moment however you desire. But the problem occurs when we let the things of the past or future constantly affect us.

Vairagya doesn't mean making your every gain an illusion. Every material thing you gain, whether it's your body, looks, money, anything, exists as part of your experience. But you need not make your identity dependent upon it.

Think of a mirror.

It reflects the whole of the objects inside it yet it remains different from them.

You are the same my friend.

I always advocate for fulfilment of your desires fully. Detachment should come naturally, it should never be forced. One should chase their dreams with full power, full energy, taste life, experience as many things as their heart wants and learn from the experience.

But remember that your freedom matters, and so does the freedom of everyone around you.

Everything else is a theory but your inner voice is unique. It's different from everyone else's, so please consider following it. Yes, you may be wrong many times but you will learn every time and that's the point.

Be completely involved in life without becoming imprisoned by it.

Play, experiment, create, love.

Enjoy the whole process.
